Having a server is not the same as having a ready hosting plan.

You should already have​

  • server access
  • a clear idea of what already runs there

What to do​

  • confirm access, logs, restart behavior, and HTTPS plan
  • then continue with H2. VPS path

Treat an old server like a new environment until you verify what is really on it.

Common mistakes​

  • assuming the server is clean
  • forgetting old apps and ports
  • not knowing who else has access
